Tell us the story of how and why you started your company.
The idea for Hidrate came to me after being dehydrated on a bus ride home after a long day. Shortly after having the idea, I decided to get a group of recent alumni together to test the concept at a Startup Weekend event in September 2014 in Minneapolis.
After successfully building the first prototype in 54 hours and getting great reception from the competition, the Hidrate team decided to carry on the project. In March 2015, we got accepted into Techstars Sprint Accelerator, which gave us the funding and opportunity to focus on the project full time. Since then, we have finished a $627,000 Kickstarter campaign, kicked-off our manufacturing, and are ramping up for our launch this Winter.
