Keep the Party Going with Spark DJ

SparkDJ-feature

Music is the key to a party’s atmosphere and can influence the memories had by partygoers at a given event. Party hosts and event managers place a great deal of care in constructing the perfect sound and feel for their audience, but building a playlist can be tough and hiring a DJ can be expensive. What if there was a better way?

Active DJs James Jones and John Boss set out to create a solution for these questions. Jones, with a background in statistics and data analytics, and Boss, founder of DJ management company Apollo Music Group, combined their tools to develop a platform that puts the music and party atmosphere in the hands of technology. Together, they created SparkDJ.

SparkDJ allows users to connect to parties, place requests, and pick favorite artists all from their phone. The platform uses artificial intelligence to emulate the experience of having a live DJ with seamless transitions and energy management that is sure to give any party a boost. Further, the app learns about users based on preferences and crowd members, helping curate party-specific music to keep the party going.

Feedback has been strong, as the app has earned placements across several Minnesota tech publications, as well as the Orange Bowl. Most recently, Spark DJ was selected as a finalist for the Techstars Music accelerator in Los Angeles.

Come meet the SparkDJ team, as well as 11 other startups, at the upcoming Beta.MN / Showcase. The event will be held on Thursday, March 30, from 5:30-8pm CT at the Machine Shop. Reserve your spot today, as tickets are moving fast!
